On The Sofa plate by Gail Altschuler.
The motif for this plate was inspired by a drawing the artist created of her dear friend relaxing on the sofa. The serene drawing is translated into ceramic using the Mishima inlay technique. Lines are scribed into the unfired porcelain, and filled with an underglaze. The surface is then sanded back to reveal the drawing beneath.
Porcelain Wall hanging plate or supported with a plate stand.
