Reversible Shape Necklace

Catherine’s brings together simple forms, combining materials, including patinated steel, silver and gold leaf to create this necklace. Exploring texture, Catherine has hammered the surface of some elements, whilst others are smooth. This necklace is reversible, the circle and one rectangular shape are covered in gold leaf on one side, and silver on its reverse. Links made from 9 karat gold hold the elements together to create the final composition.

Catherine Le Gal’s simple forms are a canvas for her exploration of texture. Surfaces are oxidised, scratched and sanded, creating pieces that appear timeworn.
