Art by Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian. This piece is part of Infinite Possibility, an exhibition dedicated to the Iranian’s artist’s mirror works and drawings at the Guggenheim. Monir is best known for marrying cut-glass mosaic techniques of her native Iran with the modern geometric abstraction of the West. The artist spent her formative years in New York, followed by her return to Iran. There, she developed her work through encounters with traditional craftsmanship and indigenous art forms. She returned to New York again after the Islamic Revolution, and back to Iran again in 2004 to reestablish her studio where she is currently working. #objet_d_emotion
