Last year, White Cube Bermondsey presented a large-scale exhibition of works by Beatriz Milhazes. This exhibition foregrounded Milhazes’ explorations in a variety of media including painting, installation, sculpture and collage and her first ever tapestry, created especially for the show. I took my daughter Paloma to discover the show, we both loved the dialogue between symbolism and materiality, Beatriz’s work employs an abundance of form and colour to offer a vertiginous visual experience. To this day this is one of the most mesmerizing shows we have enjoyed together. We left the White Cube Gallery, dazzled and dizzy.
