Artisan jewellery designer
Oblik Atelier
Oblik Atelier was founded by Mia Hebib, who is Bosnian born, American jewelry artist. She was raised in Croatia and studied at the School for Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb. She received her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Mia’s studio “Oblik Atelier” means “form studio” in Croatian, echoing her ongoing dialogue revolving around sinuous shapes that conform and compliment the human body.
Her work is transforming metal, inherently rigid and hard material, into fluid, elegant, audacious wearable jewelry, and sculpture. Her hand-crafted pieces, while abstract in nature, draw from observing the shapes around her found in architecture, urban and natural detritus, and human interactions. There is a musical quality to her wire drawings and metal manipulations. She is curious about the relationship of what her mind perceives and what her hands can produce.
Besides running Oblik Atelier, Mia has been instrumental in re-launching Robert Lee Morris collection, as well as launching jewelry for multiple high-profile fashion brands, such as AllSaints and Coach wholesale Mia also mentors at SCAD and PRATT Institute and teaches at Brooklyn Metalworks.
