Malibu, CA.- based jewelry designer Irit Ehrlich founded her fine jewelry company, IRIT DESIGN, in 2002.
Raised in Beverly Hills, CA., Ehrlich is an entirely self-taught designer who draws design inspiration from pieces that figure throughout the narrative of jewelry history, from antiquity up to the present day. Her appreciation for fine art and various applied arts also shapes her design tendencies.

The eclecticism of the range echoes Ehrlich’s wide-ranging interest in great eras of jewelry history. Some of her major muses include fine and high jewelry of Europe and the USA, plus traditional and ancient jewels from the Middle East and North Africa worn as protective amulets, symbols of religious faith or tribal affiliation.
As the designer has been collecting ancient, antique and intriguing vintage pieces for decades, Irit utilizes her treasure trove to create jewels imbued with the presence of the past.

Ehrlich upcycles vintage and antique elements into her designs and employs master artisans in downtown Los Angeles to hand-fabricate her jewels. A hallmark of her sterling silver jewels is a deeply hand-burnished patina, which she applies herself in her house overlooking the Pacific ocean.
